Frequently Askes Questions Coaching with Horses
What is horse coaching?
Equine coaching is an experiential form of coaching in which the horse responds to your energy, posture, and emotions. The horse acts as a pure mirror, giving you quick insight into what is going on inside you—without judgment, yet with clear and gentle feedback.
What is life coaching?
Life coaching is a form of guidance that does not involve horses, in which we explore together what is going on in your life. We look at patterns, feelings, boundaries, desires, and obstacles. Through conversation, body awareness, systemic insights, and intuitive exercises, you gain clarity on what you need and the direction that suits you. Life coaching brings you closer to yourself, your truth, and your own inner blueprint.
Do I need to have experience with horses?
No, not at all. You don’t need to know anything about horses. Everything is explained calmly, and you decide for yourself what feels right.
Is it safe?
Yes. I work with calm, reliable horses that are accustomed to this type of work. I guide every session step by step, and your safety and comfort are always the top priority.
Who is it intended for?
For anyone seeking greater peace, insight, or connection with themselves. Parents, expectant parents, adults, young people, expats, people at a crossroads in life—everyone is welcome who wishes to grow or take a moment for self-reflection.
What does a session involve?
We begin with a brief conversation to explore your question. Then, we head to the horses (or work in the practice room for life coaching). We engage in simple exercises tailored to your needs and conclude with a moment of reflection, allowing you to carry your insights into your daily life.
How long does a session last?
A session lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. I deliberately allow plenty of time, ensuring there is calm and space for your process.
What do i wear?
Wear something that allows you to move freely and that can get dirty. Sturdy shoes or boots are recommended. Warm, waterproof clothing is advisable in rainy or cold weather.
Can I meet you first?
Yes, you are always welcome to meet first or schedule a no-obligation introductory session to see if this is a good fit for you.
How do you take care of the horses?
The horses are cared for with great love, attention, and a calm approach. They live in a herd and have daily access to outdoor space, high-quality nutrition, and regular check-ups. Their well-being is an essential part of my work.
What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge up to 24 hours in advance. For later cancellations, the session will be charged, unless due to force majeure.
Should I touch the horse or give it commands?
No. You don’t have to do anything that doesn’t feel right. Even just standing next to the horse can provide a lot of insight. Everything happens at your own pace.
What if I'm afraid of horses?
That’s perfectly fine. Horses can be impressive. We’ll take things at a steady pace; you remain in control, and you never have to get any closer than feels safe for you. Fear can even be a valuable starting point for insight.
What kind of horses do you use in the sessions?
I work with three horses, each with their own energy and qualities:
• Tettje (2014) – my Friesian mare, sensitive and wise.
• Babbe (2014) – my mini-mare, gentle and keenly observant.
• Coco (2025) – my young mini-stallion, playful and pure.
Together, they form a loving and attuned team of co-coaches.
Everyone who wants to take a step towards more awareness, peace and connection is welcome.
